Newsletter Volume 5, Winter 2025
What’s Ahead
The leaves are swirling, temperatures are falling, and soon enough, most of us will find turkey on our table. The holidays and winter have arrived!
Here in the Pacific Northwest, harvest season is winding down, but the busy shipping season is in full swing for the next couple months. California growers are switching gears to Mexican imports. We’ll see reduced shipping volumes from Central California through year end and more volume from the border states.
We’re keeping a close eye on new driver qualification regulations. The DOT is tightening things up, with strict rules and steep penalties for states that don’t comply. This will have a big impact on driver availability in the months (and years) ahead. I recommend you give the FreightWaves’ Capacity Purge article below a read for details. SEND is working to educate and protect our customers from the impact of these impending changes. Be in touch if we can help your company, too. You can reach us at contact@sendtrans.com.
